We have the best selection of Railway & Industrial History books in Northern England.

Our shop in Horwich has some 30000 books on all subjects as well as a good selection of our specialist stock - much of which is not catalogued on-line. We also have many magazines, timetables, photos and other items of Transport ephemera. We pride ourselves on not having large quantities of unsorted rubbish, just good quality books at very reasonable prices  (so our customers say). Friendly, knowledgeable service - some people just come for a chat! 

Pay us a visit sometime - we're only 5 minutes or so from Jct 6, M61, north of Manchester.

Directions - from M61 follow signs to Bolton, past Reebok Stadium (over roundabout and straight through the Lights). At roundabout at T- junction (Beehive Pub opposite) turn Left, following signs for Horwich. Keep on this road for approx 1.5 miles - past the Old Loco Works, Fire Station (on left) and over Bridge. At Lights over bridge turn right into Horwich Town Centre. If you were to go straight up this road to the top our shop is just off to the right at the top of the main street (on the B6226, opposite the Nat West bank) - however there is no parking outside the shop so you are best to park in free car park off to the right behind the Post Office and then walk (it's only 2 minutes). On Saturdays parking is available in the private car park behind the shop (off Harrison Street).

Opening Times

We are normally open as follows (except bank holidays): 

MONDAY     :  1015 - 1530

TUESDAY    :  1015 - 1500

WEDNESDAYS :  CLOSED

THURSDAY   :  1015 - 1500 

FRIDAY     :  1015 - 1530

SATURDAY   :  1030 - 1600

We are usually shut during School Holidays

We accept all credit/debit cards, cheques & cash in the shop.
